VooDoo Doughnuts –The Magic is in the Hole!
At least, that is what they say at this magical and unusual doughnut shop that can be found on Universal Studios Hollywood Citywalk. With donuts with names like Grape Ape, Oh Captain, my Captain (with Captain Crunch cereal), and Bacon Maple, with real bacon on top, the choices are mind boggling to say the least. You might enjoy Ring of Fire with a dusting of cayenne pepper and cinnamon sugar, as well as a dried red chili pepper.
Drugs, sex, and rock and roll are not ignored with Easy Kesey Lemon Peasy which mimics a psychedelic experience, and even a doughnut that resembles male genitals named aptly Cock n Balls. The whole place is rock and roll glam with pink walls, chandeliers, and just a touch of the dark voodoo after which it is named.
There are expected choices and choices that could not possibly be expected. Nothing about the shop itself is what the average doughnut connoisseur would imagine, down to the pink box that houses the choices that are taken home.
